Kelly's Birthday Party

Kelly's birthday party was last weekend (and a lot of fun)!


The party wasn't a surprise, but the band was.


"Girlyman" - one of Kelly's favorites. They were fantastic!



We picked up one of their CDs, some of the first new music we've picked up in a while.

Touch-a-Truck Day

Decatur has an annual "Touch-a-Truck" Day, where the city parks a bunch of big trucks in the high school parking lot: Dump Trucks, Fire Trucks, Garbage Trucks, etc. They're all open to the public (the public being mostly kids) to touch, climb in, honk horns and turn on sirens. Lots of fun!

Birthday Goings-On

We had a very low-key actual birthday with Juniper; just a quick dinner with Cheryl and Jason after work. She had a few presents to open (completely not necessary, but they will be enjoyed!) and she liked the tissue paper wrapping.

The socks were a little big! They'll be perfect in a year (or four).

The bunny ears were a big hit with Juniper and Violet!

Pucker Up!

A few weeks ago, Juniper learned to respond to requests for kisses. When you asked for a kiss, she would come in with her mouth open wide, sort of like an attack-lamprey, and plant her mouth on yours. (When she was really in attack mode, she would lead with her impressively large two front teeth.) This morning, she figured out that kisses involve puckering your mouth. Sally's departure for work was grossly delayed when her request for a good-bye kiss sparked this adorable new and improved kiss.

As if that weren't enough cute for one day, Cheryl & Jason have apparently taught her what a butterfly says. Aaron was reading a book with a butterfly, and to his surprise, when he said the word "butterfly" she flapped her arms like wings.

Happy Birthday, Kelly!

To celebrate Kelly's 30th birthday, Jennifer went all out with a surprise birthday bash. The slideshow featuring all of Kelly's friends wishing her happy birthday was nothing compared to the main event: Jennifer arranged for Girly Man (one of Kelly's favorite bands) to play at the party. Juniper's a little confused about how many trunks an elephant has though...

The grasping hands at the end of the video are her sign for "milk" - often how she ends a meal. If you listen closely, you can hear her say "milk" too.
